Quillread (“we”, “us”) is operated by [YOUR LEGAL NAME], an individual based in [CITY, STATE], USA. By using quillread.com you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Quillread produces machine-generated transcriptions, translations and summaries of historical documents you upload, using third-party AI models and automated checks. Reading historical handwriting involves interpretation. Results may contain errors, especially in names, places and dates. Words we believe are uncertain are highlighted, but unhighlighted text can also be wrong. You are responsible for verifying results before relying on them for legal, immigration, citizenship, inheritance or other official purposes. Quillread is not a certified translation service.

2. Your account

You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure. One free page is available per person; creating multiple accounts to obtain extra free pages is not allowed.

3. Your documents

You must own the documents you upload or have the right to upload them. You keep all rights to your documents and to the reports we produce for you. You give us a limited permission to process your files solely to provide the service. Do not upload documents about living people without their permission, or any unlawful content.

4. Payments, credits and refunds

Page credits are sold through Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record/reseller for these purchases and handles payment and applicable sales tax/VAT. One credit reads one page image. Credits do not expire and are not transferable. If a page fails to process, the credit is returned automatically. If you are unhappy with a result, contact hello@quillread.com within 14 days of purchase and we will offer a re-check, a credit, or a refund of unused credits at our reasonable discretion.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break security, overload the system, scrape, resell access, or upload malware.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

7. Changes and termination

We may update these terms or the service. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service at any time and delete your files from your account.
